As part of the Launch of ArtSparks, Nottingham's Festival for Young
People, on Saturday 8th February there will be a world record attempt
to create the Largest Rangoli Pattern in the World.
The
record attempt is a partnership between Nottingham City Council's
ArtSparks and Nottingham Asian Arts Council who will be helping
to organise the event.
Throughout
the day young people of all ages from across the city will be invited
to come along and help to break the current world record of 84 square
metres. ArtSparks is hoping to create a Rangoli pattern that is
approximately forty metres by ten metres, covering an area of the
Old Market Square.
