If you are slaving over anatomy books swotting up for your next set of exams, spare a thought for Jay Sean. '2Point9 Productions', the outfit responsible for breaking 'Craig David' & 'Misteeq' into the mainstream have just signed up Sean, a 21 year old Asian from Hounslow, to storm the urban music scene. Currently studying medicine at QMW University, Jay's trying to put to good use a private education, however, much to his parents dismay the only doctor he has any desire to work with at this point is 'Dre'!

As well as being a Soul/R'n'B vocalist with the potential to make a mark in the UK, Jay is also a fanatical rap music follower and from the ages of 15-20 he was one half of the hip hop duo 'Compulsive Disorder'. His soulful vocals and unquestionable song-writing ability combined with a 'Donnel Jones' like smoothness is what initially attracted 2point9 Productions to him. However since working closely with him over the past few weeks they've since discovered an extremely talented rapper lying underneath the sultry smooth exterior.

With a bedroom full of 'A5 notepads' containing songs, scribblings and mini stories depicting 'London' life through Asian eyes, Jay has written countless tales with that distinctive 'British wit' and paints a very amusing picture of his life experiences so far.

His musical influences include, Musiq Soulchild, Boyz II Men, Adnan Sami, Notorious B.I.G, Naughty By Nature, Travis, Eric Benet, Grand Puba (Brand Nubians), Lionel Ritchie, Jay Z, Coldplay, Jagjit Singh, Mobb Deep, Boot-camp Clique to name just a few......

'Jay Sean' debuts on the promo single 'Dance With You'. The single is a 'battle of the dialects' collaboration produced by Rishi Rich, with a guest feature from "Juggy D" (Jay sings in English & Juggy sings in Punjabi).
