Got
an idea for a business? Or want to grow your existing small company?
You can get valuable help at a free advice at the West London Business
Advice Open Day on Saturday 2 October at Harrow Civic Centre between
9am and 5.30pm. It will offer a mix of advice, information and training
for small to medium sized companies and social enterprises. Entrance
is free to visitors. Local
suppliers, like ABi Ltd, a business support agency that works specifically
with Black and Asian entrepreneurs, regional networks and some of
the key business support organisations in the UK are taking part.
This
includes Business Link for London, the Health & Safety Executive,
The Prince's Trust, The Patent Office and the West London Enterprise
Consortium.
Director
of ABi, Vijay Amin, who is also the chairman of the board of local
enterprise agency Harrow in Business says of the event, "We've
got something here for everyone. London retailers can find out about
specific help available through the Rejuvenating Retailers programme.
And there's impartial and confidential advice from HM Customs &
Excise for people interested in import/export.
The
food industry is also significant in West London, for example in
Wembley and Southall. So visitors from that sector will benefit
from talking to networking group The Food Club or learning about
a development programme called Catering into the Mainstream."
Other
than that, we've a whole programme of free training in key business
skills such as business planning, sales and marketing, finance,
tax, Vat and IT. Speakers include 2003 business woman of the year
Brenda Spiller and business crime prevention specialist Peter Waine."
Our
Networking Lounge will give hourly training on networking skills,
and we've got specialists lined up to give one-to-one advice in
the Business Clinic on anything from tax problems to web copy."
