ASIAN WOMEN OF ACHIEVEMENT AWARDS 2003
LAST CALL FOR NOMINATIONS AS 28TH FEB DEADLINE LOOMS

Geetie Singh of singhboulton ltdThe Asian Women of Achievement Awards 2003 have announced the last call for nominations as the 28th February closing date approaches. Now in their fourth year, the Awards are widely regarded as the most prestigious and high-profile of their kind. Last year's winners included Geetie Singh who runs organic gastro pubs (Entrepreneur Category) and Dr Bela Arora of Warwick Business School (Young Achiever Category). Geetie went on to win a BBC Mega Mela Award 2002 and Bela Arora later won a Carlton TV Multicultural Award 2002.

The Asian Women of Achievement Awards were set up to recognise all levels of achievement made by Asian women in the UK. They acknowledge and celebrate the individual efforts of Asian women from all over the country and from all walks of life.

Every Asian woman in Britain is eligible to enter one of the eight Award categories:

AWARD CATEGORIES

The Arts & Culture Award
Women flourishing in the world of performing arts, management of the arts and creative writing.

The Social & Humanitarian Award
Any special women involved in social and humanitarian work, whether they are individuals working for non-profit organisations or the corporate world contributing to the voluntary sector.

Business Woman of the Year - Corporate
Individuals thriving in corporate Britain who have made, and are making, a significant contribution to the success of their organisation.

Entrepreneur of the Year
Women who have taken the risk and have successfully set up and are running their own businesses.

Media Professional of the Year
Unique individuals working in the areas of broadcast, print or electronic media.

Professional of the Year
Women who have trained and qualified in their chosen professional practice and have become a leading practitioner - setting an example to other women and having their contribution acknowledged by their
peers.

Young Achiever of the Year
Any woman under 30 who has done something incredible, inspirational or is simply the best at what she does.

The Chairman's Award
A special award presented by the Chairman to one outstanding woman of achievement.

This year's panel of judges include Chairman Baroness Helena Kennedy QC and a key figures from the business, arts, entertainment and media industries.

Closing date for all entries is Friday 28th February 2003. Shortlisted candidates are invited to attend an informal interview with the judges for their category on Monday 24th March 2003 at a central London venue. The Awards Ceremony and Dinner takes place on Thursday 8th May 2003.
