'TOTALLY LONDON' SOHO STREET PARTY
(13 June 2003)

Ken Livginstone (right) at the launch of the 'Totally London' campaign earlier this month.This weekend sees the culmination of Ken Livingstone's hugely successful month-long 'Totally London' campaign with 'A Taste of Soho', a two day family street festival that takes place on Saturday 14th and Sunday 15th in some of Soho's most popular streets, including Dean Street, Frith Street and Old Compton St. The areas will be pedestrianised from midday to 8pm.

The zone in Soho that will be pedestrianised for the 'Taste of Soho' street party.Over 40 of Soho's legendary restaurants and bars including Asian favourites such as Café Lazeez, The Red Fort and The Delhi Brasserie will move out onto the streets, offering visitors great discounts and promotional menus. A Taste of Soho will also feature entertainment for all the family to create a fun and lively atmosphere. This will include activities such as face painting, children's entertainers and street entertainers including magicians, jugglers, stilt walkers plus live music at venues across Soho.

'A Taste of Soho' is organised by The Soho Business Association in partnership with Totally London Month, which has been funded by the London Development Agency at the request of the Mayor and is being delivered by London Tourist Board and Convention Bureau.

The weekend of Friday 13th - Sunday 15th -of June will also see Capital On The Common With Totally London, where Londoners will be able to enjoy free cinema on Clapham Common. The films, chosen from the best of classic cinema by listeners of Capital FM, Capital Gold and XFM, will be shown at 9pm on each of the three evenings with the famous Capital Roadshow providing entertainment from 8pm.
