HUSBAND ARRESTED IN NISHA PATEL-NASRI MURDER
Indo-Asian News Service (28 February 2007)

Nisha Patel NasriThe Lebanese husband of a British Indian police special constable Nisha Patel-Nasri has been arrested for her murder in May last year. Fadi Nasri, 33, who runs a limousine business, was held on suspicion of murder in north London Tuesday (27 February 2007), according to local reports. His wife, special constable Nisha Patel Nasri, died after being stabbed in the leg outside her home in Wembley on May 11 2006.

The motive for the attack is still not clear, although it was initially thought to be a botched burglarly. It was reported that at the time Nisha was alone in the house. Neighbours reported a disturbance and heard Nisha scream out. A man wearing a hooded top was seen to run south towards Sylvester Road. Nisha was given first aid by a neighbour. Police attended and performed emergency aid before the arrival of London Ambulance Service who then took her to Northwick Park Hospital where she later died.

A missing knife from Nisha's kitchen was later found after an extensive search by Police. Following a high profile appeal, including a reward of £10,000 offered by 'The Sun' newspaper, two men Tony Emmanuel, 41 and Jason Jones, 35, were charged with the murder.

Nisha, who grew up in London, had been working as a special constable for three-and-a-half years. The 29-year-old constable and her husband were celebrating their wedding anniversary on the night of the attack.
