Business Awards on Wednesday 19th November

Liverpool last night to drive forward an ambitious
new programme to support and develop the UK's
multi-billion pound creative economy. They
have signed up as ambassadors for cabinet

Network) and will help shape and drive the
development of this international creative
business conference.

| Social
enterprise can blaze a trail through tough
economic times |
|
Amid the vibrant hubbub of Social Enterprise
Day, the Government today backed social
enterprise as the model to show how business
with a conscience can be done. The Minister
for the Third Sector, Kevin Brennan said
"Most recent estimates suggest there
are at least 55,000 social enterprises in
the UK, contributing 8.4 billion to the
UK's GDP and employing at least 650,000
people".

launches £25 million fund for Women's
Enterprise |
The Government today launched the Aspire Fund
- a £25 million investment fund for
women-led businesses. Shriti Vadera, Minister
for Economic Competitiveness and Small Business,
launched the fund at the Everywoman Conference
on Women's Enterprise Day which is part of
Global Entrepreneurship Week.

Government & Clinton Foundation to help
India produce cheaper Aids drugs |
The
UK Secretary of State for International Development,
Douglas Alexander MP announced that the UK
is working with the Clinton Foundation to
help Indian pharmaceutical companies produce
cheaper drugs for malaria and AIDS in India.
This will help over 11 million people with
AIDS gain access treatment by 2012.
