Business folk were lauded at the Scottish Asian Business Awards...and congratulations to Priya Lakhani (27) who scooped the 'Enterprising Young Brits' Award 2009 and Daksha Kumar (65) for the launch of her Kitchen Express food business.

Maharaja: The Splendour of India’s Royal Courts' at the Victoria & Albert Museum in London, 10 Oct - 17 Jan 2010, is the first exhibition to explore the world of the maharajas. The exhibition will bring together over 250 objects including Indian turban jewels and jewellery. read more read more

'Entrepreneur for the World' Award Honours Four International Personalities
Fazle Hasan AbedFazle Hasan Abed, who is a promoter of microcredit finance and initiated the Bangladesh Rural Advancement Committee (BRAC), received the 'Entrepreneur for the World' award in the category Social Entrepreneur at the World Entrepreneurship Forum in Lyon, France, on 19 November 2009. So impressive is her home-style range that even producers of the TV show Dragons’ Den once approached her to pitch on the show - but Daksha refused.
