Greetings
Curry Lovers!
We're in a romantic mood this week. This has absolutely nothing
to do with the fact that it is Valentine's Day next week, although we
did ponder whether Asian Men are less romantic than their non-Asian counterparts
(you too can express your views in our poll).
This weekend also sees the well-timed Asian
Brideshow 2002 at the Cafe Royal in London on Sunday 10th February.
Doing anything special on Thursday 14th Feb? If not, off-screen Bollywood sweethearts, Abhishek Bachchan and Karisma Kapoor are in town to launch their new film 'Haan Maine Bhi Pyar Kiya' (Yes I Too Have Loved) at the Cineworld Multiplex Cinema in Wood Green, North London.

Those contemplating wedlock will be pleased to hear the Andrew Lloyd Webber's new musical 'Bombay Dreams' will be about the age-old tale of boy meets girl meets mother-in-law set to a musical score by the brilliant A R Rahman. Still you will have to wait for the auspicious month of June for the launch of the musical. Ironically, before that you can see the Pilot Theatre Company's play 'Unsuitable Girls', about Chumpa - a fast-talking girl with a wedding already planned and no bridegroom! Thankfully
Mira Nair's excellent 'Monsoon
Wedding' is still showing in major cinemas throughout the UK as is
blockbuster K3G (how cool is that?...at least I didn't have to spell out
Kabhi Khushi whatever). There is also no shortage of books on the subject
of Marriage - Bali Rai's debut novel (Un)arranged
Marriage is a male perspective on the subject. Chitra Banerjee Divakaruni's
new book 'The
Unknown Errors of Our Lives' is a collection of female perspectives.
