The biggest Punjabi film of the year will be released in cinemas nationwide on September 1st 2006. Boasting an impressive ensemble of talented actors, Dil Apna Punjabi stars hugely popular pop star Harbhajan Mann in the lead role. “I’m proud of the steps Punjabi cinema has taken in the past few years. With Dil Apna Punjabi we are hoping to take things to another level,” said Harbhajan.

According to the director of the film Manmohan Singh, “Dil Apna Punjabi is a story which will make you laugh and make you cry. It is a story of our cultural values and a story of how much we love each other.” Singh is regarded as one of the best cinematographers in Bollywood with mega hits like Chandni (1989), Darr (1993), Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge (1995) and Dil To Pagal Hai (1997)

Set in the lively village of modern day Punjab and the UK, Dil Apna Punjabi is a heart warming drama about love, loss, cultural values and finding your own destiny. The film was shot in scenic locales that include Kullu Manali, Chandigarh as well as various UK locations like Tower Bridge, St. Paul's Cathedral, Windsor Castle, Batter Sea Park, Margate Beach and Caver Sham Bridge in London.

The soundtrack is composed by British music maestro Sukshinder Shinda.
