International is proud to announce the theatrical release of "'Garv
- Pride & Honour', the directorial debut of Puneet Issar,
best remembered for his strong portrayal of Duryodhan in B.R.Chopra's
epic tele-series 'Mahabharat'. The film brings together the dynamic
pair of real life brothers Salman Khan and Arbaaz Khan, on-screen
for the third time following Pyar Kiya To Darna Kya and Hello
Brother.
Garv
is an action packed, high tension drama that revolves around the
life and times of officers in the Mumbai Police Force and in particular
the Special Task Force Team, spearheaded by Samar Singh (Amrish
Puri), Arjun Ranawat (Salman Khan) and Hyder Ali (Arbaaz Khan).
In a city where corruption has become the order of the day and
ethics a thing of the past, Arjun Ranawat and Hyder Ali, under
the spirited guidance of Samar Singh, use any means necessary
against the underworld and defy the dictates of the prescribed
line of law, thus eliminating several of the 'most-wanted'. This
creates a panic amongst a set of powerful people connected not
only to Mumbai, but also beyond the national boundaries and who
had thought themselves untouchable. As a result Arjun's mother
(Farida Jalal) and innocent sister (Akanksha) are targeted as
a means of revenge. This is the last straw for Arjun and he starts
to become a law unto himself!
Shilpa Shetty, whose character is madly in love with Arjun Ranawat,
provides the love element. Anupam Kher, Mukesh Rishi, Govind Namdeo,
Anant Jogue, Mohan Joshi, Steven Fernandes and Hemant Birje head
the list of criminals. Meanwhile, Anu Malik has composed 2 electrifying
songs, which includes an Arabic item number, "Marhaba Marhaba",
featuring the sensational dancer Reshma Bombaywala (the girl who
sizzled in the Shehri Babu remix video). Sajid-Wajid have composed
the remaining 3 tracks which include a tapori number 'Khaya peeya
kuch nahin glass thoda barah aana' and "Soniya Tu Soni"
that promises to be popular in the north for it's Punjabi flavour.
Their compositions will do more than justice to the dancing prowess
of Shilpa Shetty.
The
film is released in cinemas nationwide on 9th July.
