The music is composed by Anu Malik and Gulzar pens the lyrics. Jaan-e-Mann tells the story of three college students: an immature, long haired wannabe star Suhaan Kapoor (Salman Khan) who has everything in life; Agastya Rao (Akshay Kumar), the cute and shy nerd who everybody loves, a bespectacled man who believes in the power of love over good looks and star status; and Piya Goyal (Preity Zinta) the college belle who has everything – beauty, brains, wealth – but is vulnerable and lonely. Suhaan and Agastya have nothing in common except for one thing – their love for Piya – but neither convey their feelings for Piya.

Ten years pass - Suhaan now lives in his dream world having achieved everything but love; Agastya is an astrounaut and has dedicated everything to his work and making money, but remains a bachelor and Piya still lives alone with no sight of love in life.

Then one sunny afternoon the three meet accidently and rekindle their emotions...
