KAHO NAA PYAAR HAI (2000)
Directed by: Rakesh Roshan
Music: Rajesh Roshan
Lyrics: Sawan Kumar Tak, Ibrahim Ashq, Vijay Akela
Cast: Hrithrik Roshan, Amisha Patel, Anupam Kher, Dilip Tahil.

Kahio Naa Pyar HaiEvery so often Indian cinema introduces a new actor or actress to the screen and this young hopeful is usually cast as the hero or the heroine in a breezy romance. Many young stars have become big names after the release of their first film but no newcomer has known such success as Hrithik Roshan. When Kaho Naa Pyaar Hai (Say You Love Me) was released in 2000, Hrithik, in the double role of a wannabe Bombay singer and a look-a-like rich hero who lives in New Zealand, became an instant teenage heart-throb in India. A few years later, fascinated by his huge appeal, he found himself the subject of British journalist Justine Hardy's novel, Bollywood Boy.

"In three hours, my entire life changed. When I went into the cinema to see the first show on the first day, no one knew me, and when I came out, the police had to be called to save me from the mob" says Hrithik Roshan of his debut movie.
