In
a film that is very reminiscent of Hollywood movie 'Meet Joe Black',
that starred Brad Pitt and Anthony Hopkins, 'Shukriya' is the
second offering from UK based production house Inspired Movies.
Critically acclaimed actor, Anupam Kher stars as Jindal, a UK
business tycoon whose life is upturned with the arrival of anti-hero
and stranger Ricky played by Aftab Shivdasani. Anupam's survival
depends on his ability to spin stories about life's rich tapestry
that keep the mysterious stranger engaged enough to let him live
to tell more life tales. Through the power of his passion for
life and his words, can Anupam achieve the impossible?
The much-admired Rati Agnihotri enlivens our screen again in the
role of the mother and wife. Shukriya also sees the launch of
actress Shriya Saran who performs the role of Sanam. Shukriya
sees the talent of debut director Anupam Sinha brought to the
fore. Sinha is also the screenplay and script writer for this
film which tackles the meaning of life beyond the parameters of
death in a manner that has never been conveyed in Indian cinema.
The
musical score amalgamates the work of Himesh Reshammaiya with
musical duos and Yogendra Davendra. With poetic lyrics by the
award winning Sameer and the harmonious voices of Udit Narayan,
Alka Yagnik, Kumar Sanu, Anuradha Paudwal, Sonu Nigam, Sunidhi
Chauhan and KK have made the soundtrack of Shukriya truly inspirational.
Meenu
Bachan producer and CEO of Inspired Movies said "As a production
house, our philosophy is to be involved in films, which inspire
people to do something extraordinary with their lives. Shukriya
itself is a truly inspiring story, which provokes the central
character who is fast approaching death to evaluate his life and
to begin to live life to its full potential."
