Zar Gul offers a vivid depiction of one man's fight against oppression and political injustice. Shot in villages in the North West Frontier and Islamabad Peerzada presents us with view of modern Pakistan and the diversity of its people. Zar Gul is the story of a contemporary folk hero, a successful Pathan businessman, who becomes an outlaw to fight the corrupt power of gang lord Yar Badshah. The film paints a romantic, mystical and ruggedly golden picture of Pakistan's panoramic scenery of mountains, deserts and plains with a richness of colour and detail to its communities both rural and urban. Zar Gul was a fantastic hit at the Birmingham Film Festival and is sure to be a great success on tour.
