Shabbir, underground rocker Zuj Jibran, Sohail Haider and Access band

at 2pm of The Colonial Eye: British Empire images of the Punjab,
India 1912 1947. Artist Tajender Sagoo has curated a
series of short films produced during the British rule with a focus
on the Punjab, bringing together public information & travelogue
films.

Cast In Deepa Mehta's 'Midnight's Children' |
Samrat
Chakrabarti, a British born actor dubbed the independent film king
of New York, recently finished filming Deepa Mehta's film Midnight's
Children. The film is based on the novel of the same name written
by the legendary Salman Rushdie who co-wrote the screenplay with Mehta.
Set for a 2012 release, Samrat is part of an epic ensemble cast, which
includes: Seema Biswas, Anupam Kher, Shabana Azmi and Rahul Bose among
others.

film 'Tooting Broadway' has just completed a rigorous four-week shooting
schedule in the heart of South London. Written by Tikiri Hulugalle
and directed by Devanand Shanmugam, Tooting Broadway will shed new
light on the issues around ethnic and community loyalty in the yet
unknown world of Tamil gangs in South London. Tooting
Broadway is slated for release later this year.

slashing of public support from the UK government, Renu Patel of Kaybee
Pictures and Gaurang Doshi have united to launch a film company with
£300 million investment to produce quality global cinema. In
celebration, the pair threw a lavish pre-Cannes party on Sunday 8th
May 2011.
