Saris by Anita Chanda Peace
  THE SARI SERIES
By Anita Chanda Peace
26 August to 5 September 2005
The Orangery
Holland Park
London
W8
Exhibition opens 11am - 7pm

Anita thought of the concept of 'The Sari Series' when visiting Chennai. The dazzling temple silks and crisp cottons brought back memories of growing up in India, and above all their role in shaping femininity. Antique sari border, pieces of glass bangles and paint are combined in an innovative interpretation of texture, colour and form.

Anita studied Graphic Art at Sir John Cass College of Art, London. She has exhibited her paintings at the Academy of Fine Arts in Kolkata and in galleries in London. Anita has a Masters Degree in Strategic Human Resource Management and left her job in the City in 2002 to devote more time to painting.

Her recent work has been shown at the Nehru Centre, The Walk and Llewellyn Alexander in London. Anita's paintings are in corporate and private collections in England, India, the USA and Denmark.

Anita is exhibiting together with Alexandra Conil-Lacoste.
