ASIAN ART IN LONDON 2006

Running from 2nd November until 10th November, and now in its 9th year, Asian Art in London unites London 's leading art dealers, auction houses and major institutions, in a unique 9 day event of seminars, auctions and selling exhibitions.

A sample of the magnificent selection of Asian Antiques from: India, Islam, China, Japan, the Himalayas and Korea, spanning some 5000 years of culture - including ceramics, furniture, glass, jade, jewellery, manuscripts, metalwork, paintings, screens, stone carvings and textiles are on display across galleries and auction houses in the Capital.

Among the 12 new participants are Yacob's Gallery in Mayfair, that specialises in Islamic art, Jeremy Knowles of St James that specialises in Indian works of art and the Indian dealer Artpilgrim (contemporary art, drawings & sculptures by prominent Indian artists) at their new Gallery in Buckland Crescent, NW3.

Asian Art in London 2006 encompasses the London Art World as the centre for knowledge, exhibitions and sales of the Arts of Asia. This year, the event is supporting the charity 'Learning for Life' which works with local partners, to provide education for children in South Asia, and raises awareness of development issues.
