One of the UK's brightest emerging talents, Idris Khan, creates mesmerising layered photographs. Whilst they are reminiscent of early pin-hole photography, they are actually produced by digitally scanning and over-laying image upon image. Concerned with the repetition of history, his photographs have a lyrical filmic quality, almost appearing to move before your eyes. In his own words, he 'wanted to see if the photographs would spin or melt or move from side to side'.

Through his dizzying layering of images, texts and musical scores, the elusive fleeting characteristic of how we experience events and remember them is evoked.

Idris Khan received an MA from the Royal College of Art in 2004 and has exhibited with Victoria Miro Gallery.
