Newcomer Aamar has released his debut single "Just Being Friendly" an Eastern-Western style co-production with Tim Woolf. Dubbed as the "Asian answer to Prince!", Aamar hopes to follow-up "Just Being Friendly" with his second single "Alive", followed by a debut album and UK Tour in 2006.

Aamar was born in Huddersfield (his parents originate from Pakistan) in West Yorkshire and moved to London to study dance and choreography at Middlesex University. An injury midway through dance training prematurely curtailed a serious career as a professional dancer, Undeterred, Aamar continued to explore modern dance choreography and dance-theatre.

A little later he set up Firefly, a small independent company which specialises in the amalgamation of the various art forms. Aamar created and co-directs his own promo videos. The early setback turned out to be a blessing in disguise as he discovered a latent talent for song-writing. A chance meeting united him with Tim Woolf, a fellow University student and music major and combining their talents, Aamar began to make demos.

Not comfortable with his standard pop productions, Aamar began experimenting with traditional Indian dance rhythms. When he combined his compositions with Tim's Western arrangement, he realised that he had created a completely new and very distinctive pop sound. "Just Being Friendly" is his debut single and is a perfect example of his signature sound.

Pop music figured largely in Aamar's early musical influences. An avid fan of Abba and Kate Bush, he grew up absorbing everything his older siblings brought into their home. This included anything from Motown, Santana and The Carpenters to vocalists such as Sinatra, Shirley Bassey and Barbara Streisand, disco and the ever present Hindi movie soundtracks.

Aamar is single and lives in South London. He is signed to GoGa Records, an independent UK Label. "When Aamar's demo arrived on my desk, I was blown away with this unique one-off style. The promo video confirmed my excitement. We have discovered a real and unique talent." said John Kaufman, MD of Right Recordings Ltd.

Aamar is currently producing his debut album which is scheduled for release in January 2006. He is also in pre-production for the video promo to his follow-up single 'Alive. Aamar intends to embark on his first tour in 2006.
