'Bollywood' Proms: 17 July - 12 September 2009 |

celebrate the 10th anniversary of BBC Radio 3's New Generation Artists
scheme, and the first Bollywood Prom, trumpeter Alison Balsom and
members of Honey's Dance Academy come together for a specially-created
performance on the South Steps of the Royal Albert Hall. The BBC Proms
2009 Season is the biggest ever and runs from 17 July - 12 September
2009.

events as trailblazers to the 2009 Festival that runs from 22 May

Royal Festival Hall, Southbank held the eight UK Asian Music Awards
last night (5 March 2009) to celebrate the talent of British Asian
music artists in the UK. British Asian singer and actress Preeya Kalidas
teamed up with Pras Michel for a funky twist to A R Rahmans
Ringa Ringa from the soundtrack of the Slumdog Millionaire
movie performed by Karen David, Shahin Badar and Metz and Trix.

week DJ H and DJ Rags latest album Reloaded was released
in India and went straight in at the number 1 spot in the official
Panjabi charts in India. In less than a 6 days the album, which is
called Jawani in India rocketed to the top spot, fending
off entries from Miss Pooja, Jazzy B and Babu Mann. The lads are also
due to make a trip to India in the next few weeks for a four city
tour, unleashing their Bhangra beats across dancefloors from Mumbai
to Chandigarh.
