Club Collective Shaanti launched its debut album 'Urban Underground' on Monday 26th May. All the biggest names in the urban scene - Panjabi MC, Artful Dodger, Bally Sagoo (pictured right), Ganja Cru, Swami, Asian Dub Foundation, Beenie Man are featured on the three CD collection with over thirty tracks, sixteen of which are brand new and exclusive!

Urban Underground is the result of a six-month collaboration between two of the UK's leading entertainment companies: Decadance is the UK's leading mid-price record company responsible for putting the record out and Shaanti is the biggest and most successful club/management/independent label in the burgeoning Asian dance scene and is responsible for much of the material on the album.

SHAANTI (meaning peace) is a UK institute where live performers, producers, guest players, and turntable terrorists are creating a blueprint for the future of urban and Asian music! Since first breathing life into the music movement in the late 90's, Shaanti has managed with significant success to rise above musical and cultural obstruction to become one of the UK's most pioneering and innovative clubs here in the UK.

Having firmly marked their territory at The Bomb, Bonds, Cargo, Circo, Fiftytwodegreesnorth, Medicine Bar, Que Club, The Social, and overseas with residencies in Italy and Poland. This year the collective launch their very own record label called Shaanti Play - to expand, develop and experiment their sounds of desi urban beats.

The album is a selection of cuts that captures the spirit and power of the Shaanti vibe. Urban Underground features tracks by Transglobal Underground, Juttla, Andy C, Q Project, Hill St Soul, plus 16 exclusive tracks such as Dum Dum Project Feat. The1Shaanti' "Panjabhi 50, Stereo Nation's "Mitran", Shabz' "Armageddon" and 2 A.M Project feat. A.S.Kang' "Ik Kurri" are new mixes exclusively commissioned for this album.
