Pagrav Dance Company presents 'Baharan - Spring' at the ArtsDepot, a vibrant dance production portraying varied human emotions in the life-affirming journey from winter to spring. Beginning with the wintery longing for spring, gliding through to the exciting arrival of spring and ending in the glorious effect of spring, audiences will be guided through this evocative depiction of a season that brings sound, light and joy into people's lives.

Showcasing three highly charismatic Kathak dancers, two Indian classical musicians and two Western classical musicians, Baharan is an eclectic mix of traditional dance, modern choreography, poignant poetry and a collaboration of Indian and Western Classical music.

About Pagrav Dance Company

Pagrav, meaning the sound of feet, was formed in 1983, with an aim to promote Kathak in its purest form through the evolution of choreographic techniques in performances, Urja Thakore, the Artistic Director of the company, is responsible for choreographing the diverse vocabulary employed through the Kathak technique. The uniqueness of Pagrav Dance Co lies in its ability to depict the modern world through traditional styles.

Since its inception in the UK, the company has produced several noteworthy performances and has also organised a platform for young budding dancers in Milton Keynes and London.
