DANGER! GULAAM FATIMA
March 4th, 6th and 13th 2008

Muslim Girl'Danger Gulaam Fatima' is storytelling by Muslim women about a heroic superwoman in hijab. She rescues women from bad situations only to find herself in similar places along the way. The performance is in poetry, spoken word and song. This is a first work from new artists who have been bought together by Ulfah Arts, mentored by performance poet, Shamshad Khan.

ABOUT ULFAH ARTS

Ulfah Arts is a pioneering arts organisation, which acts as an umbrella to a number of initiatives specialising in faith and the arts. This includes projects such as the above that work to develop audiences and artists for a diverse range of cultural organisations. Visit www.ulfaharts.co.uk.

Naz Koser Director of Ulfah Arts commented, "Ulfah Arts is delighted that it has enabled Muslim women to engage in the Arts, developing concepts that can bring Muslims and everyday audiences together. This performance is ground breaking for this reason. We hope this is the start to a positive and creative exchange between faith and arts."
