Tamasha and Rewrite invite you to tune in to the lyrical daily chat of students from Britain’s diverse secondary schools. Stories and dreams, allegiances and rivalries and brilliantly observed characters are soon uncovered, as Lyrical MC mixes the poetic, real-life voices of Britain’s young people.

Performed in three ‘movements’ by young Londoners from Southwark-based drama group REACT, Lyrical MC captures the rhythmic, multi-lingual sound of the school day with verbatim texts from Britain’s schools. In each school, a world of cultures. Over the din of dialects, how does any one voice make itself heard?
