Nahid Siddiqui's latest work Dhyana is a full-length solo dance piece performed to powerful and evocative music mixing a ground-breaking computer generated score with traditional Indian instruments. There are two performances at the Purcell Room on 22nd and 23rd October 2002 as part of a national tour.

Dhyana (meditation) is Siddiqui's plea for peace in a chaotic world, while exploring the role and importance of women in society. Through the medium of Kathak dance, Nahid explores the art of 'self study' and reflection in a journey towards humility and innocence.

Birmingham based Nahid Siddiqui has established herself as one of the foremost classical and contemporary Kathak dancers and choreographers in the UK. She has won numerous international awards for her interpretation of the graceful and mysterious Kathak dance tradition, historically, the preserve of the ancient Mughal rules of India.
