ANUREKHA GHOSH PRESENTS ' NOOR', 10 JUNE - 3 JULY 2008

'Noor' (meaning 'Light' in Urdu) is a spectacular dance and music piece fusing acrobatic martial arts with contemporary dance and North Indian classical Kathak dance. The production questions the nature of 'enlightenment', exploring our notion of light from a scientific, religious and mystical point of view. The result is a seamless masterpiece brought to life by dance, theatre, live music, film and projected images.

Formed in 2001 with the desire to communicate the beauty of North Indian classical Kathak dance and music which is emotional, powerful, passionate and intelligent, Anurekha Ghosh and Company has blown away viewers at International festivals and theatres. Anurekha Ghosh as Artistic Director, choreographer and dancer within the work has collaborated with an international cast of dancers, musicians, set and film projection designers from Belgium, Japan, Ireland, Italy, India and UK.
