A Passage to India A PASSAGE TO INDIA
14 - 25 September
Adapted by Martin Sherman
Lyric Hammersmith
King Street
London W6 0QL
Box office: 08700 500 511

Set at the height of the British Raj, E.M. Forster's prize-winning masterpiece dramatically captures the explosive tensions that exist when two cultures collide. After a mysterious accident during their visit to some caves in India, Dr Aziz is accused of assaulting Adela Quested, a naive young Englishwoman. As he is brought to trial, the fragile structure of Anglo-Indian relations collapses and the racism inherent in colonialism is exposed in all its ugliness.

Shared Experience return to the Lyric Hammersmith following their recent successes with 'Gone to Earth', 'Madame Bovary: Breakfast with Emma' and the Time Out and Evening Standard award-winning 'After Mrs Rochester'.
