SHRISTI PRESENTS 'WOMEN ARE FROM VENUS'

Nina Rajarani has teamed up with Mavin Khoo, guest choreographer, who is known for his combination of extremely classical Bharatanatyam teamed with contemporary dance, to present two contrasting works for 'Women Are From Venus'. Shristi is famous for its live music and 'Women Are From Venus' is no different. It promises to be an evening of high quality dance and excellent live music.

Shringara is a solo created for Nina Rajarani and four musicians. The mood of the work aims to explore a starkness that is far removed from the devotional romanticism often linked with Indian Classical dance. Shukra reflects the personification of the Planet Venus as the guru of the antigods according to Hindu mythology. This piece brings Nina together with four male Bharatanatyam dancers a truly rare sight!
