The Akram Khan Company celebrates its 10th Anniversary this year and following the widely acclaimed Gnosis in April 2010, Akram Khan’s dazzling choreography returns to the Sadler’s Wells stage with new work Vertical Road on Tuesday 5 to Saturday 9 October 2010. Featuring a world-class cast of performers from across Asia, Europe and the Middle East, Vertical Road draws inspiration from universal myths of angels that symbolise ascension - the road between the earthly and the spiritual.

The multi-award winning Sadler’s Wells Associate Artist Akram Khan is renowned for his cross cultural collaborations with everyone from Anthony Gormley to Juliette Binoche and Kylie Minogue. For Vertical Road he joins forces with fellow Sadler’s Wells Associate Artist and long-time collaborator Nitin Sawhney who adds a specially commissioned score.
