GOODNESS GRACIOUS ME - IT'S OUT ON VIDEO & DVD!

GOODNESS GRACIOUS ME - SERIES 1

Goodness Gracious Me was never quite a classic comedy series, but it did achieve the goal of all such sketch shows: to make at least a couple of its characters part of the popular discourse. The show's best creations were those that served to let the rest of Britain in on a few of the in-jokes in British/Asian life. The bitterly competitive immigrant mothers boasting about the achievements of their first-generation children, the over-compensating, more-British-than-the-British Kapoor family and the obstinately patriotic Mr Everything Came from India.

GOODNESS GRACIOUS ME - SERIES 2

On September 9th 2002, the complete series 1 & 2 of the hit TV show GOODNESS GRACIOUS ME was released on two videos and two DVDs for the first time in the UK, courtesy of Fremantle Home Entertainment.

This hilarious BBC TV series which has never before been available to fans in it's entirety, was seminal in the emergence of Asian humour into mainstream British culture, immortalizing the expression "Kiss My Chuddies!".

GOODNESS GRACIOUS ME - SERIES 3

With characters like the Bhangra Boys, Smita Smitten - Showbiz Kitten and Mr "Everything Comes from India" and starring: Sanjeev Bhaskar (Kumars at No.42, Notting Hill), actress/writer Meera Syal (Bhaji on the Beach, Anita & Me), Kulvinder Ghir (At Home with the Braithwaites) and Nina Wadia (Perfect World, Eastenders), the video and DVD releases include all of the now-famous sketches from series 1&2 including the classic 'Going for an English'.

The DVDs contain a wealth of exclusive extras, including never before seen footage from the shows, hilarious outtakes and bloopers and a spoof "Making of GOODNESS GRACIOUS ME" documentary.
