WESTERN
UNION LAUNCHES NEW LOYALTY CARD
(21 June 2005)
Bollywood
actor, Dalip Tahil, launched the Western Union Loyalty Card today
in a special ribbon-cutting ceremony. Called the Western Union Card,
it offers rewards to its loyal customers. From 6th June 2005, customers
who send money with the Western Union Card will be able to earn
points that can be exchanged for discounts on future transactions
or earn phone-time to call anywhere in the world. Every transaction
earns points on the amount of fee paid and once a customer has earned
50 points, they can exchange them for free phone-time of 25 minutes
to anywhere in the world or a £5 discount on a future transaction.
Donald
Rankin, Regional Vice President for Western Union UK, Ireland &
the Nordics said: "Introducing the Western Union Card is an
exciting development for us. Not only does it allow us to reward
our customers' loyalty but it reflects, yet again, our ongoing commitment
to our customers' needs to keep in touch with loved ones around
the world."
Applying
for the card is simple; customers need to bring two forms of identification
(proof of identity such as a current signed passport or UK driving
licence with photocard together with proof of address such as a
recent utility bill) and complete an application form at any one
of Western Union's participating agent locations. On successful
completion, customers receive a Western Union temporary card to
begin collecting points immediately and receive a permanent card
within four weeks. For enquiries about the Western Union Card, a
dedicated free phone number 0800 804 8104 is available Monday to
Friday 8.00am-5.00pm. For more information on Western Union, visit
