Britain. We all make it unique.

The "Unique faces of Britain" poster campaign, launched by the CRE (Commission for Racial Equality), celebrates and encourages recognition of ethnic diversity in this country. It acknowledges modern Britain for what it is - a fascinating multicultural, multiracial, multi-faith nation.

The poster features photos of over 30 members of the public, brought together under the simple message 'Britain - we all make it unique'.

Britain is one of the most racially diverse countries in the world and the vast majority of people are supportive of equality and fairness. By adding their faces to the poster, these men, women and children from across the country have expressed their commitment to racial equality.

Amidst signs of tensions and unrest in some communities in Britain, these people stepped forward to give their support to promote better understanding between Britain's different communities.

In addition to advertising, the CRE is liasing with police forces, racial equality councils, local authorities and other bodies, to encourage people to report racist crime. The CRE is also working closely with the Government to look at building community cohesion, and greater engagement within and between communities to break down barriers and generate greater understanding and tolerance.
