Topping
the Asian Rich List 2006 is Lakshmi Mittal, valued at £14.8
billion. Anurag Dikshit (£1.7bn) and Vikrant Bharagava (£592m)
of recently-floated online gambling site Party Gaming, make a new
entry into the Asian Rich List as Gibraltar has been included in this
year's geographical coverage.

YOUR MIND FORUM TO LAUNCH IN MANCHESTER |
Specifically
targeted at the UK Asian community, the 'Move Your Mind' forum is
now set to launch in Manchester on Tuesday 25 April 2006. Speakers
include Nasser Hussain, Preethi Nair, Krishnan Guru-Murthy, Nighat
Awan OBE and Vikas Shah.

| NEW
IMMIGRATION TECHNOLOGY AT MANCHESTER AIRPORT |
A
new Iris Recognition Immigration System (IRIS) has been employed at
Manchester Airport. It will now enable registered passengers to enter
the UK without queuing to see an immigration officer at passport control.
Instead individuals will be able to walk up to an automated barrier,
simply look into a camera and if the system recognises them enter
the UK.

| 'HEART
OF HINDUISM' TEACHING TOOLKIT LAUNCHED |
The
Hindu Forum of Britain, in partnership with the London Borough of
Harrow, is launching the country's first national Religious Education
toolkit for teaching Hinduism in schools on 6 April 2006. The pilot
project will see 72 schools in Harrow being presented with official
RE toolkits, a multimedia resource pack containing a 160 page A4 book
for teachers, CDs & guides.

| BRITISH
LABOUR POLITICIANS VISIT INDIA |
On
Saturday, 1st April 2006, seven members of the Parliamentary Labour
Party who are prominent members of the Labour Friends of India (LFIN)
parliamentary group left Britain to visit India on an organised visit.
The delegation will visit the cities of Delhi and Kolkata during their
eight day programme and returns to Britain on 9th April 2006.
