local resident from Cleveland, Murkith Khalisadar, has been recognised
for his community work with the accolade of a Respect Award. The winning
residents each received a Respect Award For Taking A Stand for their
commitment, energy and courage in standing up to vandals, thugs and
nuisance neighbours. Murkith set up the Cleveland Youth Coalition.

| GOVERNMENT
TO STRENGTHEN 'OFF-SHORE' BORDER |
More
people will face checks before entering the UK to further tighten
the UKs borders, Immigration Minister Liam Byrne announced today.
Through the introduction of a US-style visa waiver programme, the
Government will create a strengthened border control to screen people
it wants to enter the UK and to deny entry to those it does not, even
before they get here.

LAUNCH CAMPAIGN TO SAVE HOLY SHOAL BRIDGE |
Hindu
groups from around the world have jointly launched the Save
Ram Sethu campaign. The Ram Sethu or Adams Bridge, which
is seen as one of Hinduisms holiest sites, is an ancient chain
of shoals that once linked Indias southern areas to Sri Lankas
northwest.

Chauhan, a Senior Personal Bank Manager with Lloyds TSB, received
the Coventry 'Women of Achievement Award' 2007. Her accolade is for
her "steadfast approach, influence and participation have been
key to promoting good race relations and interfaith dialogue within
various different groups".

NOW HAS 36 BILLIONAIRES, LED BY LAKSHMI MITTAL |
As
many as 36 Indians figure on the world's richest people compiled by
Forbes magazine, led by steel tycoon L.N. Mittal, with 14 new entrants
from the country joining the billionaire club. Mittal is ranked fifth
with a net worth of $32 billion, while brothers Mukesh and Anil Ambani
are ranked 14th and 18th respectively.
