Tariqs
professional experience extends over 18
years and includes nine years working for
NatWest in a variety of frontline and strategic
roles, culminating in being Head of Marketing,
Sponsorship and Branding for their capital
markets division, before moving on to work
in the executive management team for the
US based fund manager Alliance Bernstein.
He is currently Director of Marketing, Corporate
Strategy and Research at commodities trading
firm Sucden in London
He
is Vice President of a national youth organisation
and among many other roles, he has also
served as a governor of a local primary
school for 5 years and as an executive member
of the Racial Equality Council, and he has
been involved with many initiatives on community
engagement for over 15 years.
As
part of its engagement with all sections
of British society, the Conservative Party,
under David Cameron, set up the role of
Vice Chairman for Cities to ensure that
the Party reaches all communities and understands
their concerns. Tariq Ahmads experience
puts him in an excellent position to continue
this important work.

on his appointment, Conservative Party Chairman
Caroline Spelman said: I am delighted
to announce Tariq's appointment as Vice
Chairman for Cities. It is an important
role with responsibility for ensuring Conservatives
are engaged with all communities in our
urban areas. The cities of Britain form
the hubs of our commercial and social life.
They are also home to many of the most deprived
members of our society. Tariq will do a
great job building on the hard work of Kulveer
Ranger and Sayeeda Warsi.
