Social Leadership Programme Fellowship

The
Clore Social Leadership Programme, an initiative
of the Clore Duffield Foundation which develops
aspiring leaders in the third sector has announced
that applications for the second round of entrants
are now open and will close on 3 June 2010. Dame
Mary Marsh, Director of the Clore Social Leadership
Programme said, "This year, we are again
looking for the very best talent to benefit from
the special opportunity our Programme presents:
personalised development to build the third sector
leaders with the courage, confidence and competence
needed to work for communities across the UK in
these challenging times. We plan to offer up to
twenty fully-funded Fellowships, with those selected
to take part being announced in the autumn to
start their Fellowship in January 2011.
This
year at least four Specialist Fellowships funded
by particular organisations to target specific groups
or address particular needs. Full eligibility criteria
are detailed on our website, but in summary, these
aspiring leaders will be: ·
- committed to innovative
approaches to policy and practice and working
in one of a range of areas of special interest
to the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation
- working with, or coming
from, marginalised communities and committed
to securing social change in line with the Paul
Hamlyn Foundations social justice work
- working in education,
community development or welfare for the benefit
of the Jewish community in the UK in line with
the priorities of The Pears Foundation
- registered blind or partially
sighted, funded by the Royal National Institute
of Blind People
"We launched our Programme
last year, recruiting our first cohort of Fellows
in October 2009," added Dame Mary Marsh,
"They are now well on their Fellowship journeys,
some full-time until December this year, others
part-time, while continuing to work in the sector.
