ARDI
KOLAH SCOOPS TOP SPONSORSHIP AWARD
(1 April 2003)
London-based
sponsorship, pr and marketing consultant Ardi Kolah was awarded
the prestigious 2003 Hollis Sponsorship Award in the category of
'Best Low Budget Sponsorship' for his work on the British Independent
Film Awards which took place in October 2002. The BIFAs was founded
by Raindance
in 1998 to pay tribute to achievement and promote British talent
and filmmaking. Last year the BIFAs were sponsored by Glasgow based
financial services group, Park Caledonia.
Kolah
received the award before an audience of 400 people from across
the sponsorship industry at London's Café Royal on Tuesday
1 April, narrowly missing another award in the 'Best First Time
Sponsor Category'. The
entry faced stiff competition from Barclays Bank for its sponsorship
of the Shaw Trust "Spare the Water' Chelsea Flower Show, Ben
& Jerry's "Legendairy Sponsorships" and Two Oceans
Beach Sports Programme. "I was delighted to have been nominated
and thrilled to have received an award." said Ardi.
The
Hollis Sponsorship Awards attracted a record number of entries from
the sponsorship industry this year. Other winners included Imperial
Leather for its sponsorship of the 2002 Commonwealth Games, English
cricket sponsored by The Times, T in the Park sponsored by Tennant's
Lager and Tate online sponsored by BT.
The
Hollis Sponsorship Awards were presented by BBC Radio 4's sports
presenter Garry Richardson.
