Arti Poddar, operations director at leading care home provider, Lambhill Court Ltd, Glasgow, 23

Arti PoddarAfter graduating from the University of Strathclyde with a BSC Honours in Technology and Business Studies, Arti Poddar's first job was working as the personal assistant for the managing director of leading Glasgow-based care home provider, Lambhill Court Limited. By January 2006 Arti had worked her way up to the role of operations director and was responsible for 250 residents and 250 employees over a network of three care homes.

Now, at the age of just 23, Arti is a leading representative on issues related to care for the elderly and has made written contributions to publications including The Evening Times and Asian Women Magazine. Arti also meets regularly with Glasgow City Council to draw attention to concerns affecting the quality of care for the elderly.

Arti is an active supporter of Divya Yoga Scotland, a charitable trust hosting weekly yoga workshops throughout Glasgow, assisting the charity's founder, Sunita Poddar, with campaign management. They are set to meet with the Prime Minister for a question and answer session later this year.

Other significant organisations that Arti is involved in include the Clydebank Women in Business Group and the Morton Fraser Women in Business Group. Arti is also on the Board of Directors for Aastha Broadcasting (UK) Ltd, a leading faith channel that boasts 100 million viewers each day. As a key stakeholder, Arti jointly directs the UK and European branch of the company.
