IMTAZ KHALIQ

Imtaz KhaliqImtaz Khaliq’s passion for sewing began at the tender age of ten when her talents were spotted at school and she was encouraged to develop her skills. She went on to graduate with a distinction from the London College of Fashion in 1988 and started her first tailoring business at the age of 18 in her home town of Bradford.

Of Pakistani parentage, she broke the mould of an Asian woman by forging a successful career and establishing Bespoke Tailor in 1991. Now considered one of the leading lights in tailoring, she is best known for her handmade, sharply cut, sleek suits for both men and women.

Her work has won the admiration of supermodels, top singers and actresses – including such heavy weight stars as Michelle Pfeiffer and Dina Carroll. Regarded by many as an authority on all aspects of tailoring and design, she now sits on the board for the UK Design Advisory on Education to the government and runs apprenticeships in her London studio.
