Having grown up in a traditional land-owning family in India, Janet Ginnings moved to England in the late 1970s where she trained as a hairdresser, beautician and aromatherapist at the Morris International School of Hair and Beauty. Aged 24 she began working in a salon situated in Mayfair, London, which she would later go on to buy. Under a new name, Janet Ginnings Hair and Beauty, Janet relaunched the stagnating business in 1996 as a vibrant and high quality salon offering a complete range of hairdressing and beauty treatments. These include Janet's own signature treatments known as 'Indian Kitchen', which she has developed using traditional remedies and recipes that have been passed down through her family.

Janet provides her exclusive services to stars including Elle McPherson, Sadie Frost, Meera Syal and Preeya Kalidas. The salon has been included in the 'Good Salon Guide', and in 2005 it was recognised as part of the 'head of the year' award by the National Hairdressing Federation.

Now as a leading voice in the hairdressing and beauty industry, Janet writes a regular column in the professional beauty magazine, Health and Beauty Salon. Her continuous work in maintaining the salon's high profile includes hosting parties, supporting charity functions and doing photo-shoots of the latest hairstyles for a wealth of mainstream magazines.
