LHAMEA
LALL
Lhamea Lall, 18, Singer/Songwriter,
Erdington, Birmingham
Lhamea
Lall is a multi talented young lady who has been performing since
she was 11. Lhamea can sing everything from opera to RnB, and has
an immense vocal range of 3.5 octaves. At the current time Lhamea
is studying a BTEC in Popular Music.
Lhamea
suffered both physical and verbal abuse for three years in her first
secondary school, and as no action was taken her parents moved her
to another school. Lhamea, when going through this ordeal decided
to put pen to paper and write and produce music about what she was
experiencing. When Lhamea performed to the public the feedback was
phenomenal, not only was she helping herself overcome the problems
she was helping others too.
Lhamea
decided to use her music to address other issues and writes about
creating your own destiny to achieve your goals. From this Lhamea's
new school nominated her for the Diana Princess of Wales Memorial
Award for young people, for being an inspiration to the community
and peers and overcoming her past experiences. On winning this award
Lhamea became an Ambassador, and regularly speaks to young people,
MPs and the media, including Radio 1 and ITV lunchtime news.
In
2003 and 2004 Lhamea won the Make It, Break It Award for the young
songwriters competition held at the Liverpool Institute of Performing
Arts, and was the youngest person to receive the Channel 4's Creative
Class Award for her own creative and diverse perception of music.
