NINA SALOOJA

Nina Salooja is haematology consultant at the Hammersmith and Charing Cross Hospital, who initiated that hospital’s clinical service for long-term survivors of bone marrow transplants. She is a highly respected expert in this field and in issues relating to blood clotting disorders. Nina regards her own greatest personal achievement as coming through an anti-academic atmosphere in the state education system and get into university to study medicine in the eighties. “I was always told to aim lower,” she says.
