PARVIN ALI
Parvin Ali, founder director of FATIMA

Born in Malaysia, Parvin Ali has advocated for effective representation of women's enterprise at a strategic level since 1992 and serves on the Women's National Commission advisory group for Muslim Women. Parvin works with government departments on gender and diversity issues and has delivered UK wide training to statutory and non-statutory organisations on Islamophobia and Islamic Awareness, as well as on diversity issues to support advocates of women experiencing domestic violence.

Parvin is the founder director of Forum for Advocacy, Training & Information in a Multicultural Area (FATIMA), which supports the economic empowerment of all women, especially those from diverse or disadvantaged backgrounds. Through her work, Parvin has helped to develop dynamic initiatives in personal development, support, information and training to improve the network's opportunities for economic empowerment through employment and enterprise. The Home Office have agreed to donate funds to support the first Regional Muslim Women's Forum in the UK due to the success of Parvin's work with FATIMA.

Parvin recently led the Women 2 Women initiative that exceeded the requirements of a contract with Learning & Skills Council and engaged with 600 women in hard to reach communities including areas in Somalia, India and Pakistan.
