DHILLON
Perminder Dhillon, senior consultant with Third Vision Consultancy
and life coach, Carmarthen, Wales
Perminder
is a training consultant with a background in psychology, media
production, equality training and community work. In the 1970's/80's
Perminder was heavily involved with women's rights and the equality
of women from all communities. She went onto study an MA focusing
on independent Asian film makers, whilst working on racism in the
media and looking after her father who was in a coma.
She
was instrumental at extending the right to reply on programmes,
developed guidance for the National Union of Journalists and campaigned
for press and broadcasting freedom. Having made many short films
on such issues Perminder went onto work as a local authority corporate
race relation's equality advisor establishing good practice on racial
issues and her career progressed from here and for over twenty years
she worked as both an independent consultant and in-house for the
voluntary and educational sectors. She specialises in all aspects
of equality, with core experience in race and gender equality and
health and ethnicity and set up Third Vision Consultancy working
with medical companies.
Perminder
set up the Drug and Alcohol Action Programme (DAAP) in 2001 specifically
to work with Black and minority ethnic communities in Southall and
Ealing after working on a drug information programme for the University
of Central Lancashire.
