SONIA DEOL

Sonia has wanted to be a presenter since she was a child, an aspiration that was realised when she got her first job as a breakfast TV reporters with TV Asia (now Zee TV) in 1993. A year later she joined Asian community station Sunrise Radio, from where she moved to radio XL hosting their mid-morning show, the first of its kind dedicated to Asians living in the Midlands. She was the poached by the BBC Asian Network to present its flagship mid-morning show.

Her talents as a presenter are not confined to radio, on BBC Network East she rose from reporter to co-presenter in 3 years. At Channel East, she presented the magazine show 'Everywoman' tackling a range of serious issues facing British Asian women. She is a frequent contributor to 'East Midlands Today' main news programme and regularly presents BBC London News on BBC1.

She has hosted numerous fashion shows, charity events and concerts, one of her recent highlights being the Asian Women of Achievement Awards. In her own words she has "only just begun".
