Greetings! Cricket Lovers

On one of the hottest days of the season, Embassy won the toss, decided to bat first against Lankians and got off to a flying start with 33 runs coming in the first 3 overs. Tidy spin bowling from Priyankara Perera (5-25) and Brijesh Jeganathan restricted Embassy for 120 all out. Brijesh Jeganathan also contributed with 3 catches in the outfield. First wicket partnership of 73 between Sujith Kumarasinghe and Sankalpa Gunasekara (41) eased Lankian to the target with no alarms.

Numan Jayasena (3- 21) and Sanjeev Korala (2-29) helped Sri Lankan Cavaliers restrict Stanmore Jaffrey's to 125. The Sri Lankian Cavalier's openers Ishan Ratanayake (58no) and Duminda Abeyatunga (56no) smashed the ball around the ground as they reached their target without any loss in 11.3 overs. A century partnership between Partik Patel (87) and Dhiren Darbar (38) was the key to Rajput Samaj's 240 against Neasden. The total would have been even greater if it had been for a hat-trick from Ayaz Sayyed just when Rajput were raising the tempo. Neasden's slim hopes of competing with Rajput was a stand between Krunal Patel (43) and Tiku Patel (38), however they were unable to maintain the momentum.

In division two, top of the table clash between Kingsbury Construction and Muktajivan was dominated by spinners in a low scoring match. Vinod Bhanderi was the pick of the Kingsbury spinners with 4-15, whilst Muktajivan's veteran spinner Harilal Vekaria turned in 3-15. West Harrow moved into promotion contention following their narrow 6 run win over Bharat Olympians. Darren Mathura (102), Kirit Chhaniara (67) and 5-23 from Hitesh Goswami were the key to Anson's win over Welldon; Ramya Upadhya made 118 for Welldon in the same game. Lohana completed the double over Magenta Security to leave the latter bottom of the table; Digant Popat took the bowling honors with 4-26.

There were plenty of unexpected results in division 3. Bottom of the table Centurion recorded their first league win at the expense of Youth Wing. Saukat Rawat took 4-25 as Youth Wing were all out for mere 78 which Centurion's passed with 8 wkts to spare. Tejas Mehta (81) and Prinay Patel (76) gave Dharmaj the solid foundation for their 253-7 against Ramgharia. Buch Heer took 4 catches behind the stumps for Ramgharia, whilst Babber Ali impressed with bowling figures of 8-4-8-5. Nav Samra (68) and Buch Heer (40) helped lead Ramgharia to their first league win as they scored 256-7 with more than 2 overs to spare.

Divisional leaders Kondor were beaten by 7 runs by United Sports. United Sports posted 212 for 7 in 40 overs with Umang Patel making 66. Narendra Patel led the Kondor chase with 89; however Ismee Mohammed took 4-29 to limit the reply to 205-9 in 40 overs.

Regency remain unbeaten in all competitions following their comfortable 43 run win over Indiana. Young Lions remain top of division 4 by defeating Sayona by 19 runs. Young Lions got off to a good start as the openers made 64; Rajiv Tanna went on to make 62. Sayona managed keep Yong Lions down to 217-8 in 40 overs. When Sayona batted they had some early set backs, however they fought back to 198 all out.

Welldon II beat Rajput Samaj II by initially restricting the latter to 195-8 thanks to 6-31 from Kartik Patel. Welldon II managed to score the 27 runs needed off the last 2 overs with a ball to spare to clutch victory from the jaws of defeat.
