MPCL WEEKLY RESULTS

Greetings! Cricket Lovers

Kondor defeated another division club to reach the semi-finals of the Baker Tilly cup. Kondor bowlers were able to keep the Stanmore Jaffrey's batsman in check by restricting them to 135. Fayaz Kermali made 45 whilst Narendra Patel and Harshad Patel took 3-20 and 3-18 respectively. Tirath Shukla made 60no for Kondor as they passed the required runs with more than 16 overs to spare. Sanjeev Joshi continued his good form as he hit 105 in Bharat Olympians 298-6 in 45 overs against Young Lions. Excellent bowling from Dhian Basia (6-13) ensured that the Young Lions were skittled out for 80.

North London Drifters were bowled out for 150 by Rajput Samaj with spinner Bharat Patel taking 4-24. At 95 for 4 in 22 overs Rajput were cruising for easy victory but sudden batting collapse left them 132 for 9. Veteran Dhiru Patel coming in at No 11 batted sensibly to support Nikunj Mahida to see Rajput home in a tense finish. Neasden made light work of defeating Regency as Dev Patel (56no) and Mat Lofting (54no) helped them to a comfortable 10 wicket win chasing a target of 120.

In the Baker Tilly plate, Sayona won the toss and batted first to score 238-7 in their allocated 45 overs against Lankians; Ishtaq Ahmed top scored with 65 whilst Indrajith Coomaraswamy took 4-56. Batting second was easy for the in form Lankians batsmen as they chased down the target in 28.5 overs losing 3 wickets. Sankalpa Gunasekara (51) and Sujith Kumarasinghe (76) put 121 runs for the second wicket in 16.3 overs. A quick 3rd wicket partnership of 84 runs in 8 overs between Suranga Daluwatta and Sujith insured that everyone got home in time to watch Football World Cup final. Suranga Daluwatta made 75no in 42 balls (first 50 in 26 balls)

A good fast bowling spell from Kingsbury Construction's Pravin Vagdia (7-23) destroyed the batting line up of Welldon. Welldon were all out for 77. Rajesh Patel (34no) set the stall for an easy win 7 wicket victory. Sri Lankan Cavaliers made 206 with Osama Dar making 42 and Zakir Hussain taking 4-41. Excellent fielding, particularly from Osama Dar and tight bowling from all the bowlers saw EKTA bowled out for 119.
