MPCL WEEKLY RESULTS

Greetings! Cricket Lovers

In the Baker Tilly cup semi-final, Kondor made 280-8 in 45 overs with Narendra Patel (96) and Rishi Kotecha (63) providing the backbone. Bhupendra Patel took 5-53 for Neasden. Neasden collapsed to 68-8; however Ashish Patel (54) and Ayaz Saeed (50) gave some comfort to a dismal Neasden performance. Harshad Patel picked up 4-24. Kondor will meet Bharat Olympians after they overcame Rajput Samaj by 18 runs. The bowlers were always on top as Rajput restricted Bharat Olympians to 159 with Hiren Desai taking 5-25; Sunil Patel top scored with 40. Rajput Samaj were cruising to a comfortable win requiring 25 with 4 wickets still intact and plenty of overs remaining. Rajput skipper Dhiren Darbar saw his colleagues make some poor selection as they all threw away their wickets and he was left stranded on 42no. Sanjeev Joshi and Chetan Patel took 16-3 and 3-23 respectively.

In the Baker Tilly plate semi finals, Lohana managed to make 228 in 44.1 overs against Lankians in which the bowling honors went to Suranga Dalluwatta (4-39) and Sankalpa. Gunasekara (4-42). Lankians lost 2 wickets in the first over of their innings for one run. Third wicket partnership of 69 runs in 9 overs between Sujith and Sankalpa settle the early nerves before Sujith Kumarasinghe was run out for some excellent fielding. An elegant, unbroken 4th wicket partnership of 162 in 18 overs between Suranga Dallwatta (108no) and Sankalpa Gunasekara (82no) ensured that Lankians booked their place in the final by finishing the match within 28 overs. Suranga Daluwatta scored his hundred in 53 balls including seven massive sixes and twelve fours. Sri Lankan Cavaliers failed to have the minimum 9 players ready by 2.00 against Kingsbury Construction and were thus knocked out.

In the division 3 fixture between Sayona and Regency the former posted 210-3 in 40 overs. Jatin Patel batted for the full inning for his 88 not out which included a 108 run partnership with Sanjay Singhal. Jatin Patel than picked up 5 wickets for just 31 runs as Regency were bowled out for 180. Sajjad Katriwala top scored for Regency with 51. The Sayona win leaves open a combination of promotion options.
