MPCL WEEKLY RESULTS

Newly promoted Stanmore Jaffrey's made a grand start to their first season in division one by defeating current champions Neasden. Stanmore Jaffrey's were restricted to 104-9 in 40 overs with A. Bandali top scoring on 35. Neasden were unable to respond as they were bowled out for 77 in 28.2 overs as A. Bandali took 5-19. Lankians posted 196 in 40 overs against North London Drifters due to useful contributions from Sankalpa Gunasekara (54), Stephan Diloshan (43) and Sujith Kumarasinghe (34). All round bowling display restricted North London Drifters to 139. Embassy managed to score 142 against Rajput Samaj with only Raja Saleem (37) showing any form. Abbu Bakar took 4-23 and Ali Haider 2-15 as Rajput were bowled out for 125.

In division 2, Kingsbury Construction posted the highest score of the day with 225-7 in 40 overs against Magenta Security. Nitin Sehgal was the leading run maker with 63. Magenta in response were bowled out for 118 in 39.1 overs as Suresh Gopal (2-6), Hasmukh Vekaria (2-14) and Nitin Sehgal (2-18) all chipped in useful wickets. Muktajivan who avoid relegation last season made a winning start against Bharat Olympians. Sanjeev Joshi (53) scored half the Bharat Olympian runs in their total of 101, whilst skipper Harilal Vekaria took 3-34 for Muktajivan. Praful Varsani (26) and Suresh Varsani (30) made useful contributions and despite 4-22 from Syed Shah, Muktajivan got home with 7 overs to spare.

In division 3, United Sports made 201 against EKTA with main contributions coming from Bhavesh Patel (57) and Jignesh Patel (35); Jayesh Patel and Alkesh Solanki took 3-41 and 3-20 respectively for EKTA. In EKTA's response, they found runs hard to come by and were all out for 138 in 40 overs. Dharmaj restricted Youth Wing to103 in 37 overs as Nainesh Patel took 3-7. Dharmaj completed an easy win by 6 wickets with 13 overs to spare. Kondor managed to contain Ramgharia in 102 for 8 in 40 overs with Narendra Patel taking 3-8 and than raced to 103-5 with Kaushik Pindoria making 43no.
